Who is 2DUTCH?


2DUTCH Hospitality Collective was established by Niels de Wilde and Michael Kooitje in early spring 2023.


But why "2DUTCH"? Well, to begin with, both founders hail from the Netherlands.


Our ethos can be succinctly described as "too Dutch" – direct, transparent, and results-oriented. We're driven by a relentless pursuit of success and aim to make a meaningful impact, not just on organizations, but on individuals as well.


With over 50 years of combined experience across renowned national and international brands, we've earned our reputation as hospitality industry veterans.


Beyond our core team, we've cultivated a network of associates and partners who collaborate with us to ensure exceptional results for every client. Together, we form "the hospitality collective."


Our expertise spans a wide range of areas, from local hotel sales to international sales team leadership, hotel openings and rebranding, recruitment and training, and commercial leadership development. This breadth of experience enables us to offer invaluable insights and solutions tailored to businesses worldwide.


Based in the Netherlands, our core team is driven by a shared passion for hospitality, commercial excellence, and team development. With decades of international hospitality experience under our belts, we're dedicated to delivering outstanding results for our clients.




MICHAEL KOOITJE

Founding Partner & Commercial Hospitality Expert   



Michael is a seasoned Hospitality Expert with over 30 years of industry experience. Throughout his career, he has held diverse commercial and sales leadership roles both on-property and off-property with esteemed brands such as Holiday Inn Worldwide, InterContinental Hotels Group, and The Social Hub (formerly The Student Hotel) in Europe.


During his tenure from 2011 to 2018 with InterContinental Hotels Group, Michael spearheaded Sales Effectiveness for Europe, overseeing all commercial projects, sales events, and platforms across the managed and franchised hotel estate. He was instrumental in establishing IHG's Expo in London and Paris, pioneering the

innovative 'Sales for Hire' concept now embraced globally.


Michael's recent role as General Manager for two Marriott brands, Moxy and Residence Inn in Amsterdam, further underscores his extensive hotel operations experience.


A proven leader in energizing and inspiring commercial and operational teams, Michael is adept at fostering organizational cultures and driving optimal returns. His expertise spans successful team building events, hotel openings across Europe, and on-boarding trainings, all geared towards maximizing commercial performance through strategic leadership.


With a focus on leveraging bespoke SaaS distribution technology and API connectivity, Michael has a track record of delivering business growth on both national and international levels. He is highly collaborative, energized, and recognized for his contributions, boasting an extensive network within the industry.


As a straight talker and engaging partner, Michael is renowned for his personable approach and unwavering commitment to excellent customer service and bottom-line results. With a deep understanding of managing diverse geographic territories, he is poised to make a significant impact in any hospitality setting.

NIELS DE WILDE

Founding Partner & Commercial Hospitality Expert


Niels is a dedicated and results-driven Commercial Expert with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry.


Throughout his career, Niels has made significant contributions to the international hotel market, holding various commercial leadership roles with esteemed brands such as NH Hotels, InterContinental Hotel Group, and Zoku.


From 2018 to 2020, Niels played a pivotal role in the successful implementation and rollout of the Sales 4 Hire concept for IHG across Europe, providing invaluable support and guidance to the brand.


Subsequently, from 2020 to 2022, Niels assumed responsibility for all commercial activities at the innovative hybrid hotel concept, Zoku, overseeing two highly successful openings in Vienna and Copenhagen.


An acclaimed commercial specialist, Niels is known for his straightforward (2DUTCH) approach and no-nonsense attitude. With a keen focus on results, he is passionate about leading his teams to excellence and collaborates closely with them to ensure bottom-line success.


Niels brings a wealth of expertise in sales, revenue management, marketing, reservations, meeting & events, and hotel openings. His extensive knowledge of hotel CRM and data systems further enhances his ability to drive commercial success.
